Psychotherapy

What is Psychotherapy?

“You can’t stop the waves,
but you can learn to surf.”

– Jack Kornfield –

Counseling can help you find new ways of dealing with things you struggle with daily. It can help with coping for losses, stress, divorce, low grades, peer problems, spousal discord. It gives us a way to come to terms with a difficult past or present and helps us to understand ourselves better.

Sometimes we just need to talk to someone so that we feel seen and heard. I will listen with compassion and support you without judgment.

People may hesitate to seek counseling, thinking “There must be something wrong with me” or ”I’m not crazy, I don’t need help“.  At some point we all feel “stuck” in our lives, with relationships, our jobs even with co-workers and friends. It is difficult to know how to change or move forward. It may be that we need motivation, inspiration and support. Even the strongest people acknowledge their limitations and need the support and compassion of others.

A Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) helps individuals, couples, families and children explore and solve problems. Helping you or your child feel safe so that you feel able to speak openly and freely in session is very important to me. I will not judge you, your family or your family situation. Whatever you say in session is completely confidential, except in some occasions where someone’s safety is in jeopardy. If you have questions or concerns about confidentiality please do not hesitate to ask me when we meet.
